Who Can Apply?The Community Foundation supports registered charities whose operations are focused within the geographical boundaries of Hawke’s Bay. Our current policy allows for consideration of funding to community groups that deliver programmes that reach a wide range of people and that make a long term impact. The Community Foundation (HB) distributes funds on behalf of: The Aotearoa Foundation supporting Environmental projects in Hawke's Bay. - Priority will be given to groups providing environmental work and education within the boundries of Hawke's Bay.
The Tindall Foundation, supporting Families and Social Services. Priorities for receiving Tindall Foundation funds include community groups that deliver: - Community Services and Development, Literacy & Numeracy, Youth Development, Budgeting, Foodbanks, Early Development, and Maori/Migrant/Refugee & Cross Cultural services.
Tindall Foundation funds cannot be granted for: - Health/Medical/Disabilities, Buildings, Business or Investment Capital, Capital Assets costing over $1500, Core Education/Scholarships, Individuals, Drama/Arts, Establishment of Charities, Loans and Endowment funds, Overseas Travel/Expenses, Religious or Political advocacy, Sport & Recreation, Retrospective claims, Venture Capital initiatives.
Funding limits
- There is an upper limit of $10,000 per application.
- Only one application can be accepted from your organisation in any 12 month period.
- The Community Foundation (HB) may consider applications for funding up to three years for one project.
When to ApplyOur distributions committee meets four times a year in March, June, September and December. You are invited to submit a preliminary assessment form to see if your project can be considered. If the preliminary application form is accepted you will be invited to make a Full Application. You need JavaScript enabled to view it The next funding round closes 31March 2012 and all full applications must be received by this date. - Applicants will be advised in writing on the decision of the committee.
- Successful organisations will be asked to certify within six months (and substantiate with receipts) that the funds have been spent for the purposes specified in the approval.
